Cargo & Package Safety Policy

SmartAura Logistics Operational Protection & Risk Mitigation Guidelines

Effective Date: January 1, 2026 | Version: 3.1 (10th Anniversary Corporate Edition)

1. Policy Statement & Objective

At SmartAura Logistics, the safe transit and uncompromised preservation of client goods form the baseline of our corporate standard. Celebrating 10 years in business, we enforce rigorous safety protocols designed to prevent cargo loss, damage, tampering, or unauthorized delay during haulage across all operational corridors in Nigeria.

2. Goods in Transit (GIT) Protection & Inspection

  • Pre-Loading Vehicle Inspection: Every trailer, container box, and delivery van is subjected to structural water-tightness, floor hygiene, and securing anchor point audits prior to loading.
  • Tamper-Evident Sealing: All enclosed cargo compartments are secured with uniquely serialized tamper-evident bolt seals immediately upon completion of loading. Seal numbers are logged on the official Consignment Waybill.
  • Fragile & Sensitive Cargo Handling: Delicate shipments require specialized cushioning, dunnage bags, and corner protectors as outlined in our cargo handling protocol.

3. Driver Certification & Defensive Driving Standards

All SmartAura Logistics drivers undergo mandatory defensive driving re-certification, medical fit-for-duty evaluations, and substance screening every six months. Speed calibrators permanently limit operational speeds on national highways to ensure stability and accident prevention.

4. Journey Management & Night Driving Restrictions

  • Journey Management Plans (JMP): No vehicle dispatches without an approved JMP specifying designated fuel stops, rest breaks, and safe parking depots.
  • Night Driving Protocol: Long-distance transit adheres strictly to statutory driving hours to prevent driver fatigue and mitigate highway security risks.

5. Restricted & Prohibited Goods

SmartAura Logistics strictly prohibits the transportation of illegal substances, unmanifested hazardous chemicals, explosive materials, or unregistered weapons. Any consignment found violating national transport regulations will be turned over immediately to relevant law enforcement agencies.
